Doco-Spray

Silk matt 1K thick-film coating, water-based, for interiors

Using the latest polymer technology, this product achieves extreme scratch and abrasion resistance. Specially developed for fast, efficient coating of challenging objects. The rust film inhibitor makes direct coating on steel possible. Furthermore, the product is certified for use on surfaces in indirect contact with foods.

Areas of application

Thanks to fast drying and reduced spray mist, this thick-film coating is suitable for a wide range of objects. Due to the specially formulated viscosity, it achieves high coating thicknesses (wet layer thickness up to 400 μm) at optimal flow. A key characteristic of this coating is its fast and excellent block resistance. The rust film inhibitor makes direct coating on steel possible. The coating is supplied ready to use for fast processing. This makes it ideal for door frames, doors and radiators. The reduced masking work required means it is also ideal for renovations (up to 50% time saving compared to conventional systems).

  • Substrate / Processing

    Substrates

The substrates must be loadbearing and/or suitably primed or lightly sanded. As a rule, after sanding and adhesion checking, the product can be directly applied onto 1-component coats. The substrate must meet the usual requirements: dry, clean and free from dust.

    Renovations:

    •     Intact existing coatings can generally be touched up or recoated directly with Doco Spray after sanding.
    •     Existing coatings that are not intact or areas with significant damage should first be coated with appropriate primers (e.g., Aqua Universal Primer, Dolwaprim, or Wood Primer).
    •     Minor areas and light scratches can usually be touched up by dabbing with Doco Spray (diluted 25% with water).

    Application

    Airless spraying

    Use undiluted
Filter screen, use large mesh size

    Spray angle

    20° – 50°

    Nozzle

    0.008 – 0.01 ″

    Spray pressure

    Touch-dry (TG4)

    After approx. 1 hours

    Reworkable

    After approx. 5 hours

    Fully dried

    After approx. 48 hours

The drying time depends on the relative air humidity, air and object temperatures, and coating thickness. The data was determined for standard conditions at 20°C room temperature and
    65% relative humidity.

    Coverage

    4 – 7 m2/kg

    6 – 8 m2/l

Consumption depends on the application method, the texture of the substrate and the coating thickness. The stated values are average figures from practice.

    Tool cleaning

Immediately wash out thoroughly with water, possibly with soft soap. Remove dried layers with nitro thinner.

    Important

    • Due to their pigments, brilliant and intensive colours (in the spectrum yellow, orange, red etc. have a lower opacity. A second coat may be necessary.
    • In the case of intensive and dark colours, mechanical strain can cause pigment abrasion on the painted surface. This complies with the state of current technology for silk-matt coatings and is not a reason for compliant.
    • Remove adhesive tape immediately after application or sufficient drying. Due to increased moisture (surroundings or bordering areas, e.g. plastered surfaces), swelling typical for 1K water- based coatings can occur in the form of a temporary loss of adhesion. This loss of adhesion is reversible!
    • Observe the instructions of the adhesive tape supplier.
    • The combination of insulating and barrier primers (such as Isoprim Aqua) can lead to cracking. It is essential to pay close attention to environmental conditions, drying times, and coat thicknesses.
  • Quality and environment

The DOLD ColorSystem is designed as a colour mixing system. It makes you independent of expensive storage and gives you the decisive flexibility in the delivery area. ColorSystem colour concentrates are universal colour pastes with high-quality pigmentation for the production of RAL, NCS, IGP and many other colour shades in the DOLD ColorSystem.

The product can be used as a coating for indirect contact with food and was examined for its substance migration by means of GC-MS screening analysis and for its sensory behaviour (sensory influence on food) in indirect contact with food. Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 was used for the evaluation.

The evaluation of paints and varnishes according to the MINERGIE-ECO® standard is based on the environmental label of the Stiftung Farbe Schweiz. Dold AG declares all products on the basis of the environmental label and offers solutions and products for all applications that comply with the MINERGIE-ECO® standard.

With the environmental label, coating materials can be identified in a transparent and clear scheme according to environmental and health protection criteria, as well as suitability for suitability for use. The environmental label creates transparency for the builder, architect, planner and client. All products of Dold AG are classified in the category A to G.

Dold AG was founded on August 01, 1921 by Hans Dold in Wallisellen. Until Dold is still located at the same site and is one of the leading paint and varnish manufacturers in paint manufacturers in Switzerland. In Wallisellen, Dold AG develops and manufactures its innovative range of paints and varnishes for the construction painter as well as for industrial customers.

Swiss paint and varnish factory certified according to ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001. Dold AG is one of the few one of the few paint and varnish factories which not only has its quality management, management, but also its environmental management system, as well as the occupational safety and health protection processes have been certified. These certifications are a clear commitment for Dold AG towards all its commitment to all its stakeholders.

Environmentally friendly products are a concern for DOLD. The foundation KMU Clima confirms Dold AG's contribution to voluntary climate protection. For this concern all direct emissions of CO2 in form of electricity, heating and mobility are compensated by DOLD to a reforestation project in Uruguay. This is a long-term contribution to climate protection and for the sake of the environment.
