During the 2023 expansion at the Bollingerstrasse site, protecting the steel structures against corrosion was a key priority. To meet this requirement, a modern polyaspartic coating system from Ferrotekt Steel Protection AG – part of Dold AG since 2023 – was applied. This advanced technology offers numerous advantages, including rapid drying, high coating thickness and outstanding resistance to harsh environmental conditions. The steel surfaces were prepared in accordance with the ISO 8501-1 standard, achieving cleanliness grade Sa 2.5. This thorough preparation, combined with the polyaspartic coating, achieves a corrosion protection rating of over 25 years (C3 very high) for the building.
The coating was applied using the airless spray method, providing long-term corrosion protection for the structure. This state-of-the-art solution not only offers superior corrosion protection but also plays a key role in ensuring the building’s longevity and environmental performance.
